One Teacher’s Approach to Confronting Gender Bullying A beautiful read of what one teacher kid to help her third grade class confront all of the bullshit fed to them by the media.

- Class: *chattering*
- Me: I don't believe in gender roles.
- Teacher/Class: wat.
- Me: Yeah, I don't believe in separating what girls and guys can wear, act like, or do, etc. I don't think it's particularly fair to always have to fit into the role that our gender has been given. All it does is put pressure on us and make us feel confused or depressed. Everyone's different, and I don't think I should have to fit into someone else's definition of what it means to be a girl, although in my opinion, it's worse for guys. Girls typically have more freedom with what they can do that is socially accepted, but guys have the strictest "gender role" that they feel the need to fulfill, which quite frankly, I find ridiculous.

- Classmate: Holy crap. You can talk?
- Me: ... *awkward shimmy into my seat*
